Money order or check ? USCIS or BCIS ??

It's really confusing !!!!
Could I send a personal check ?? And if yes (if no, then I would make a money order...) should I made the check payable to the USCIS or the BCIS ??? I am doing my AOS (I-485 package).

I wrote a personal check to US Dept of Homeland Security and it cleared with no problem.

I sent my personal check for my parents applications, so in the memo space, every check has i wrote his /her name and form ... and i made it to US Department of homeland security, no abbrevations, they won't take it if you write US DHS or so;

Money order, I heard, will cut the response time shorter vs. personal check. In my case, I sent MO, and got my NOA in my hand in 6 days.
The customer service woman at USCIS asked me to write D of Homeland Security on the MO.
