I’m a permanent resident and I was at the MVA a few months for my provisional license when I was asked to register to vote. Due to a misunderstanding, I didn't realize I didn't have the right to vote. I registered and I don’t recall checking ”yes” to being a citizen but it turns out that I did. Anyway, its been 6 months since I’ve registered to vote but I haven’t voted yet. I’m worried, can I get deported/denied citizenship? I came to this country at a young age and have been living here for almost all my life. Is there any chance of me becoming a citizen after this incident?

How long have you been a permanent resident? Did you get your green card before age 18? Did either parent become a US citizen before you were 18? If yes to both, you might already be a US citizen.

Me and my parents became permanent residents around 2009. I'll be eligible to apply for naturalization in about 2 years.

You'll need to unregister yourself, and get a letter from the state confirming that you never voted and that your registration has been removed.
Then if/when you apply for citizenship, admit what happened and show the letter.
