Misspelled Last Name on EAD - Help

Hi,

We receieved my wife's renewed EAD yesterday. But the happiness was shortlived as we noticed her last name was misspelled incorrectly. When we contacted they asked us to reapply again and send back the new card along with the app. Anyone else had gone through the same situtation. Please share your experience and thoughts. Appreciate your help
 
First of all, "misspelled incorrectly" means that it is okay !! I assume you meant "spelled incorrectly" :)

Do you have a copy of the I-765 you originally filed? If so, can you verify that your wife's name was spelled correctly on the form you submitted, so that you can prove it's USCIS' error and not yours?

If so, you can 1-just do what they told you, but without any fees since it's their mistake (include copies for proof), or 2- just ignore it, since it's really not that big a deal since her A# is correct on the card.
