i read this on a site:

¨In other words, beginning on 21 September, to a time yet to be announced, non-citizens on active duty can apply for citizenship with no further residency requirements.¨

does this mean i can get citizenship(if i serve in the armed forces) if i stayed overseas for like 2 years during my green card validness without filing a re entry form?

If you are on active duty, then you can not even stay outside military
in USA for two years. If you are sent abroad on military duty,
sometimes ago a poster here quoted his JAG as saying that
such trip do not count as overseas trip for this purpose
and a noncitizen solider on duty does not have to carry the GC

yeah, i know the chances of being sent to iraq...

but my main concern is after i serve the 3 years, will these 2 years that i traveled outside the US come back and bite me?
