Might need to kill my husband re GC

On thursday he got the mail but put it in his car and forgot about it. I asked if there was any sign of my GC - he said NO! Anyway, he bought it in this morning (2 days later) and put it with all the other junk mail to be shredded - I was going through all the unopened envelops and what did I come across????

My GC had arrived on Thursday and my husband was going to put it through the shredder on accident!

Anyway - at the end of the day I am now in possession of my conditional permanent resident card. It is cream in color and at the moment I think it is the most wonderful thing i have laid eyes - apart from my silly husband of course.

I have actually been in the country for 2 years as I entered on a J-1 visa prior to even meeting my husband - whoever thought a 2 year post-doc would lead to such a huge life change? Not me, thats for sure.

Anyway, I am so used to the junk mail already, but I never realised I could opt out, so thanks for the info.
 
A J-1 for a 2 year post doc for me lead to currently 8 years in the USA, a wife and a Green Card. So yeah, I get what you saying about "huge life changes"!
 
Congrats on receiving your GC. Just casually walk up to your husband the next time he is shreading documents and ask him "Does the name Bobbitt ring a bell?". Make sure one of your hands is on the shreader while you ask him that.
