Methods for expediting FBI name check

Hi, folks

I like to initiate this thread to sonsolidate the methods for expediting FBI name check. This issue relates to everyone who is applying or will apply for GC.

Background:
Although it is a last step of GC application, it could takes 3 months to 5 years, which strongly depends on how lucky you are. The earlier you prepare, the better it will be.

Some folks have start groups for this issue:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/namechecktracker/
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/push_nc/?yguid=300869791

They are focusing on the legislation procedure to push a new bill:
http://www.petitiononline.com/nc082505/petition.html

If it passes, it would be wonderful! While supporting the petion, is there any method to expedite the FBI name check? It seems the routine senator or congressman enquiry does not work for expediting. They just give a enquiry for us.

Let's save ourselves.

This issue was exhusted and there is, at least at present time, no way to expedite NC. Some people went to the court before and the USCIS upon court decision request from the FBI to expedite it. I read a new memo somewhere that even with court decision the USCIS will no longer request that.

I never saw any proof that all our waitings are really related to the "FBI namecheck".
All we see is that USCIS states the case is pending background check.
A lot of people received the approvals almost immediately after they've got the proof of FBI clearence from any source other than USCIS and used that proof to persuade USCIS to do its job.

And I don't really see any advantage for USCIS to approve I-485s on time.

That`s right! uscis survives with applications fees EAD, AP,etc.

How to get FBI clearance proof from other sources. Can you explain in detail. I am stuck in Namecheck and would like to try all possible sources.

Have no idea as I'm also stuck in the namecheck.
I've tried to contact the senator. No response yet.

I do know that my namecheck and fingerprints were cleared within two weeks last year after request has been made to FBI by another government agency.

I've been to two Infopass appointments and got two different answers on when namecheck was initiated. First answer was some date in 2005 and the second was the date in 2006. That's how the term "bullshit" is defined.

MY advice to everyone would be to contact Congressman/Senators first...(don't expect anything)
Then write to Laura Bush stating all the issues( including that u contacted Reps ) and ask for help to expedite the name check. After waiting for name check for 1.5 yrs, a letter to the First Lady got everything moving. It was cleared within 2 mths of sending the letter. All Senators/HR folks were hesitant to pursue this on our behalf. You can search the forum for more detalils on a format etc..but do write...it works!!! :)
