I got the following message on my email from USCIS.

Question 1:
I gave finger printing in September 2002, but the email said July 9, 2003. Any body had similar situation?

Question 2:
I got a 2nd finger printing notice last week (scheduled to be done at Detroit July 15th ) and the email says "processing has resumed on your case".

How long does it take them to complete such cases, any guess?

BTW, my 485 Receipt date is August 2002, EB3, MI case.

Thanks,

CokeTin.

Ans 1: Though you went for FP on September 2002, the result of fingerprint came from FBI to USCIS on July 9th (or USCIS updated on July 9th).

Ans 2: When USCIS sends FP notice, they don't update I-485 status, until they collect your FP. The "processing has resumed on your case" is a standard message. Don't try to find meaning out of it.

Did you apply for Address change, EAD/AP? In these cases, it triggers an update to the standard "On Jul 9..." message. It may not necessarily mean your FP was received on Jul 09. This message update alomost happened to lot of guys.

Count me

CokeTin: I am also Sep 2002 filer, my message changed today to same as yours. However, I did not change anything.... My 3rd EAD is approved recently and 3rd AP is pending....

Looks like our files have been touched somehow?? My guess!!

Hmmm, I also have a problem with AP. A new trend???

My RD is 09/11/2002 and ND is 09/17/2002, concurrent filling.

I applied for second AP last December, have got online approval 02/11/04 (next date after expiration of previous one), but has never received it.
An inquery to INS (1-month long investigation) resulted only in the letter stating:

"The travel document was sent to you 02/14/04 and has not been returned as undeliverable. You may file new I131 application. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause."

I applied for new AP on May 7, still waiting for the result.

I did not move, my address is very secure.

Is it a new policy of the INS?
