We are due to travel on 8/23/02 and will be back on 9/20/02. We'll be applying for 485 after we come back.

My question...Is it a good idea to get the medical exam before we go or has to be done after we are back in US.

Pls advise..tku.
 
There is no such rule. It is upto you when to take medical. Medical test results are valid for one year.

Considering you take the medical first before the travel, you will be looking at less time to get your 485 approved otherwise you will be asked to do medical again. So practically it is good to do it at the time of filing 485 (that is when you come back).
