I have a close friend who had tuberculosis 8 years back. He finished 9 months coarse to get rid of TB. He was fully recovered that time and doing very well right now.
But for 485 when he went for medicals his chest x-ray failed because there were some spots (not dominent) in the lungs and x-ray was not perfectly clear.
INS doctor gave him some anti biotics and told him to come back for the X-ray. He is worried now.
Did anyone face this kind of problem because of the past ?
Is there anything to worry about.

This forum helped me a lot. I hope I can help my friend.

Appreciate your views and advice.

Thanks

Spots??? could be anything ... does he have active pneumonia? (unrelated to TB)...could be something very benign such as granulomas. What did the doctors report say ...what did he think the "spots" were....??? Is your friend a smoker? How old? Your best bet is to ask the doctor presribing the antibiotics what he thinks and also look at the X-ray report what it reads.
If he is giving your friend anitibiotics for "spots" ... he is probably thinking some sort of patchy pneumonia. BTW, which antibiotics did he prescribe?
Best wishes...to you and to your friend.
NO matter what...does'nt seem like it will be an absolute hindrance to his GC process...some delay maybe ... but thats all.

I remember reading a while ago the DOS medical guidelines for immigration. My understanding is that having active TB is an issue for public health (and hence denial of permanent residence) but treated TB case is NOT an issue. TB does cause permanent scaring of the tissues and people from some countries routinely test positive for the skin test.
