My medicals are expiring in October and my landing is also due in october. I was issued visa stamping request yesterday. I may not be able to go for landing and therefore, my agency will communicate to Canadian Consulate to issue the medicals for the second time.
Has anyone done this before? Will this cause a problem in my PR.

texancandian and other gurus .... you guys seem to have a lot of information. Could you please comment on this?

I have seen cases where if the medical expiration is too close, they will nevertheless give a 2-3 month extension of the visa. I guess the question is why cant you go in October and when is the earliest you can go ? Also what is the reason you cant go.
You could always go over the weekend and come back. If there is another genuine reason like ill health of wife/child etc then you can send a doctors letter to the consulate requesting extension. I cant advice further without knowing the reason why you cant do your landing in October.
Thanks.

texancanadian,
In the middle of october I have a Go Live and am going to be very busy. Moreover, my H1 visa is expired and I tried to take appointment from Toronto and Ottawa and could only get it for November. My landing is sometime on th 18th october and I won't be able to stay back in canada for another 20 days when I have such a huge responsibility. I could very well use AVR but am not confident about it.
I have an email from the agency confirming that my PR will not be jeopradised because of reissuance of Medicals for the 2nd time and it will give me one more year before I could land.
Also I need to send my Passport for Stamping to Detroit which is not really an issue because I read that it takes about 10 days for stamping.

Any comments?
