Went to designated on 10/21 when I got an RFE.
http://uscis.gov/graphics/exec/cs/index.asp

Location: Metro Boston (Burlington)

$140 fee + 1 photo + passport.

Told them I dont have a passport; wasted 5 minutes explaining why.

When I went there, asked for passport again. Explained again. Didnt ask for drivers license.

Went through the tests. Told doc I will be positive to the TB skin test because I went through BCG vaccination. Asked if I could go directly to an x-ray to save time. Turns out we needed the time any way.

Doc asked if I ever had measles, I said yes. Asked to do a blood test for that ($50), because apparently there is a 4-week wait between a measles shot and the mumps/rubella shots, so if I am immune to measles, I'll save 4 weeks time. Said sure, paid the extra $50, etc.

Found out today I am immune to measles, so called my doctor to schedule a mumps/rubella shot. My doctor said I have to take measles/mumps/rubella together because its just one shot, and there is no 4-week wait in between.

I am not too pissed off at the $50 because I can afford it, but I am sure there are other poor immigrants for whom $50 is a lot of money. I am going to go back to pick up my docs next week, and them I am going to let her have it (after collecting the sealed envelope, of course)

BTW, the TB test came back positive, I had to do an xray ($75) which came back clean.

Nearing another hurdle..

why do they ask for photo?

When I went to do the medical, they never asked for a photo. Also, they don't ask for passport either, a driver license is sufficient.

I went for medical exam a couple weeks ago. The doctor office did not ask me for passport, driver license, or photos except that the front desk lady asked me to fill in the passport number on the suplement form.

When I called the civil doctor office, I was told it will cost me $130 for the medical test, but I was also told that it would be almost free (co-pay) if I picked the civil surgeon as my primary care physician.

I was told that most health insurance plan will only cover such medical test if it is conducted by your primary care doctor.

Since my insurance plan allows me to change doctor everyday, I decided to change my primary care physican to the civil surgeon. I was thinking if I don't like it I can change it back to the way it was.

brother,
Immigation Doctor Charge Me $250 For Visit .
And I Still To Pay For Chest X-ray $150 With Another Doctor Because In The Hospital They Can't Do It Without Physicen Writting Request...and In The Health Department They Can't Do It Too ...unless I Take Tb Preventive Medicine According To 32 Years Veteran Nurse!!
MY WAS IN LOUISIANA

Hmmm... you can find bargains even in the city like New York... :)

Mine was free!!! My insurance covered it. Ofcourse if you tell them its for immigration, they will say no cuz ofcourse they(insurance company) think that when you say immigration, they cut u open and insert a tracking device or something...

I just called my insurance company and said i want to do a yearly physical with xrays(since 2 are allowed)..and when i got to the approved doctors office, I said for immigration....And submitted a refund request from insurance..they sent me my 235 bucks and I put another 200 and got myself an awesome digital camera...SEE..:)

Shots make price higher. In my case,I got most of shots taken the time I was enrolling to college. At the time,I had only 1 shot missing. This made me spend only $100.With my skin positive,I was forced to spend $35 for an X-Ray,despit my 9 months preventive treatment taken back in 2002

I did the Medical Exam and I-693 after I submitted my I-485 application on 02/15/03. I paid $250 for it. I applied for a travel document on October 06, 2005, INS asked me again for I-693 and Medical Exam. I spent another $175 for another medical exam.

I have PPO, but they told me that can't use it. I paid the doctor $200 from my pocket.

Shukeimet,

I think the issue is that your doctor does not want to border with the insurance paperworks.

I called three doctors in NYC, I received three different answers. One told me that I cannot use my insurance for immigration related medical exams. I would need to pay a total of $600. The second doctor told me that I can use the insurance for only the blood test. So I would still need to pay $130. The third told me thatI can use my insurance and only responsible for the co-pay which is $20.
