Medical Examination

Do I have to get my medical exam done in the state where I live or can it be done by any INS designated "civil surgeon"?

I mean what is the significance of the list of INS approved doctors in my area?

If I live close to the border of 2 states can I do my medical with a doctor in the adjacent state?
e.g. I live in NJ can I do medical with a doctor located in NY? Has anyone done this?

Yes you can as long as the person is an INS authorized doctor.
