Hi,

My husband will be taking his naturalization oath next week. I am currently on F-1 visa. We had applied for my I-130 in 2003 and it was approved last year. Now we are planning to file my I-485 after his oath. Do I have to do the medical examination and submit I-693 along with the I-485 or can we file I-485 first and then do the medical examination later .
Also will I have to wait for visa numbers to be available or will they become current after he becomes citizen? How long will it take for me to get GC.
Any response would be highly appreciated.

Thanks.

-Medical exams should be in the same package with any I485 application.
-I-485 application should be with visa number availabe not before that.
- Visa number availability has nothing to do with one applicant became citizen or not.

Once your husband becomes a citizen he can update his I-130 to indicate that fact, see here for details on how.
