Dear Friends and Gurus,

Could you help in this regard...

Do we need to pay the doctor for performing the examination / tests?

How long will it take to get the signed in forms from the doctor?

Any suggestions what to say about immunization and vaccinations... I know for sure that I have been vaccinated when I was younf but do not have any records of that... Your suggestions on this will be greatly helpful...

I would higly appreciate any other suggestions .....

Thank you guys in advance....

if you dont have proper vaccination record, you need to redo everything. I dont remember but it will cost up to 400$. it depends how extensive your vaccination or blood test are. be careful, immigration doctors do not accept any inssurence so you have to pay from your pocket. In a week, you can get your results...

Thank you for your answer,Should I contact our doctor in our country to give a certificate that we have taken vaccination, will this help? and could you please suggest which vaccinations have to be recorded? Thank you in advance.

I think that will help.
Also I think that you can take a blood test with your current doctor with your insurance. That may save you a little money.

Hey FLucky,

my experience as follows:

I had to pay for the doc out of my pocket. My total cost was $272 (this included immunizations, TB test, physical examination, Xray and PPV)

I brought to the doc's office the record for tetano shot and HIV test that I had done at the begining of this year through my primary care physician. NOt sure if tha't s the case for all immigration doctors, but mine accepted whatever document I brought. So, if it is cheaper getting the HIV test, tetano shot, syphilis and the other immunizations through your regular doc go for it! Check with your local immigration doc first. If you have family and the immigration doc acccepts it from your regular doctor you may save a lot of money in the process.

As for the immunizations, my situation was like yours. But since i had no record they said I should just go ahead and take it all, which I did. Much easier than trying to figure out what I should get or not. And it only cost like $40 or so.

My doc was very fast also. Both for appt and for results. I had my AP on 8/2. Called the doc the next day and got examination for 8/9. PIcked up results on 8/14; mailed I-485 yesterday (as I mentioned in another posting). The examination itself was just your usual/fast check up.

Best of luck to you. I"m sure you'll also find the medical examination process very easy where you are.

UPDATE: I checked my supplemental form to I-693 (documentation of immunization to be completed by the doc) and here what was listed and thecomments:

DT/DTP - Not appropriate age
Td(tetano) - done
Polio - not appropriate age
Measles (or MR or MMR) - done
Mumps (or (MMR) = done
Rubella (or MR or MMR) - done
HIB - not age appropriate
Hepatitis B- not appropriate age
varicela - done
penumococcal -not appropriate age
inlfuenza - not appropriate agge

in the end I got a "Vaccine history complete for each vaccine, all requirements met". Now, most likely if you have kids they may have to have some of the vaccines I listed above as "not appropriate age".

Feelinglucky,

Also FYI - and maybe you already knew that, the medical examination results are good for 1 year. So don't go get one long before you're ready to file your I-485.

How long are the blood test like HIV/PPR and TB test valid?
I had done physical exam, and blood tests done less than one year ago. Will doctor accept the results from last year blood tests or do the reccomend doing them again?
Thanks

the doctor I went to accept my HIV test from 2/06. My guess would be that probably they'll take test from up to six months old (just a guess!).
