Medical exam x-ray cd

We were given our chest x-rays in a CD after the medical. The doctor emphasized that we should remind the x-ray place for our copies before leaving, in case they forget.

What are these for? Are we meant to bring them to our interview?

They’re for you personal records, you’re not expected to take them along for the interview.

I thought (but I could be mistaken) I read somewhere, these X-rays (whether printout or on cd) must be taken with you when you first activate the visa, so having the ray extends to more than just being a personal copy.

I thought you bring your passport, visa packet, and these X-rays to activate visa in your passport.

So to check: do people still bring X-rays these days with them, or is this outdated advice?

You can carry it along with you if you like but as already stated, it is for your personal records, not required for activation purpose.

Ah cool, and I now remembered where I saw it

Step 10 from the travel dot state dot gov diversity visa website section (I can’t paste a link for some reason)

To quote:
X-rays - You must hand-carry your X-rays with you, not pack them in your luggage.

In summary: just carry the X-rays with you, but it appears that they aren’t used for activation purposes, from peoples experiences to date.
