I have called some INS-authorized doctors in my area, and their fees vary a lot. I need vaccinations too. And for everything together, they ask for anywhere b/w 160$ and 450$.

Now, whats the normal fee? and can some doctor screw up things even when he charges 160$? what better result i am getting from 450$ service?

I just dont get it.

The lower end of that range sounds about right. I paid $180 for everything including vaccinations.

As long as they are on the USCIS list, go with the cheapest. My parents paid $130/person w/o vaccination. They had proof of vaccination history.

Paid $20 copayment, got $220 from flexible spending! :D

I didn't have my vaccination record, but the doctor wrote down that he gave me two shots and I was up to date for the remaining ones. :D

Chose to take x-ray instead of skin-test....he wrote skin-test negative :D

You gotta love these russian doctors in Brooklyn!!

wait, and makes us sure you are okay and don't have some disease?

HIV test has been done, TB test has been done with x-ray, actually more accurate than skin test.

I had all my shots in Italy...I just lost my record....

Good Morning, I think I paid $140, doctor check up, blood work and TB test, and please don't tell me that some of them charge people $600... thats a rip off!!

yes, is horrible. and when one considers is just a basic test and one has to bring most of the info, is a rip off. those bastards didn't want to ask for my records and wanted me to do everything. if the test were some big thing that checks you out inside out and up and down, then $600 is good. the fee is basically for the paperwork and for a hiv test.

There is no such thing of normal fee. That depends what doctor you choose, there are doctors that are more expensive than others, same as stores even they can sale the same clothes. Plus some immigrants will need more tests/shots than others and that make a difference in the price.

That a doctor can screw things up or better say filling out something incorrect can happen be but has nothing to do with the payment that you must do. Even a cashier in a bank can make a mistake. Just ask for a photocopy of all your paperwork and if something call your attention or is not looking right to you, you can ask to the doctor. Even so USCIS can ask about it and has nothing to do with the doctor.

The payment varies from each doctor, are private doctors so they can ask for their services a fee that cover their expenses or some cases part of it can be cover by your insurance if you have one.

There is a post made by Ari4u about Medical Examination and has a complete information.

I haven't done the medical exam yet but I called around and found a doctor who only charges $65 vaccination included (great because I only have the TB one).
I live in los angeles
