Hi, my wife had her medical exam and done for the Adj. Of Status and we received the result for the INS in a sealed envelope. She unknowingly, opened it and i heard that, we should send only unopened medical result to the INS. Can somebody please advise me on what i can do now ?

No problem explain this to your INS doctor and asked them to give your wife a new set.

Thanks. Do the doctors communicate to the INS about the results ?

Thanks. Do the doctors communicate to the INS about the results in any other way other than the report that they give us ? Just curious !

I don\'t think so. Whatever the doctor writes on the forms is the only info. INS received.

Can the Doctor re-seal it?

I think the doctor must have sealed the envelope. If you send a tampered envelope it could have bad effects. I dont mean to scare you but my lawyer told me that they dont accept open reports. So ask the doctors office if they can seal them. But that IS a risk though

Thanks

Why is that even a concern to you? Read on...

If you are thinking of changing the report in any way for any reason, don\'t do it. That would be fraud. If your question was really born out of curiosity, then, no, the sealed envelope is the only communication between the Doctor and INS.

Just go to the doctor again and explain what you did and get them to put it into another envelope and re-seal it. The contents are not confidential to you. They can easily give you a copy of the report. The sealed envelope is a must to ensure that there is no tampering of the report. Do not send the envelope the way it is and do not try to re-seal it yourself. As it is the GC process is harrowing. You do not want to invite any more complications.

My doctor gave me 2 envelops: one sealed for INS and another unsealed for me so I could read what he wrote.

I am sure your doctor has your wife\'s record on file, just go back and ask him/her for another copy. Tell that your wife did not understand his/her instructions NOT to open the envelop.
