What happens if someone contracts serious illness or gets disabled etc due to accident or whatever while the GC is in progress? Is the GC denied for the person and dependents?

Is this something we need to be worried about?

I would think it would be true in cases of employment based greencards, where you are expected to join the company after you get your GC. If you are not in a position to work ( due to your disability) then the question of approving your greencard does not arise. I know it sucks, but could happen.
