I got an RFE for an amended I-140 on April 7, 2001.

My 485 AVM was updated on June 20, 2001 saying that they have received my response to the RFE. What does INS mean whey say they have received the response to my RFE? Do they mean they have received my I-140 approval notice?

Weird thing is I have not even received an I-140 receipt notice? How could they receive my I-140 approval notice?

That\'s why I\'m guessing all of these developments is due to the AC21 180-day field guidance released on June 19, 2001.

Neo,
All it means is they have received your reply to the RFE. the 140 sits in the pipeline like a regular 140. See the processing times to get details of the current processing times. Once the 140 is approved it is automatically (?) sent to the officers desk, and then the 485 aproval time depends on the officer in charge of your case. I had my lawyer mail in a copy of the amended 140 aproval notice, however my approval was 2 days after the mail date so am not sure if it ever reached the officer. My 485 was aproved April 25, 2001 (Amemded 140 was approved on April 11, 2001).

Thanks bacardi151.

I have not received an I-140 receipt notice but my 485 AVM already say that they have received the response to my RFE on June 20, 2001.

I guess I can assume that my I-140 RD is June 20, 2001. Is this correct?

Yes on 140 RD. Check with your lawyer, he/she might have received 140 receipt notice.
