May Visa Dates

Do you guys think they are dumb and stupid?. I see all of this mess as a single plan. The plan is to make the whole immigration system to a crawl that people get pissed off and go back to home countries or live here in a state of uncertainity for long period.
Nobody wants to talk about our problems. These are just politics and we may get something out of it if they feel that they can get some political advantage out of it.
So no logic, no effort will work. Pray for God's mercy and wait for the good time.

Good Luck to all.

texancanadian,

You are absolutely correct. The "GHOST" of 245i cases continues to haunt us and will do so for a while. There is so much confusion right now that nothing is getting done. EB3s are in big trouble ..

kamrans,

You may be right. At this point I am inclined to believe that anything may be possible. We truly are at the mercy of God. Lets try to weather this storm together.

Munnu,
I must acknoledge your optimism given your PD of October 2004. My PD is August 2001 and still I loose my optimism with eash visa bulletin which comes out. If nothing changes (no new visas etc) October 2004 may take about 7 -10 yrs more. I am happy if it moves to my Aug 2001 PD in next 1 yr.

Hoipe im wrong and it gets here sooner

New Immigration Bill

Hello,

Can anyone explain me what is the proposed change(s) in the new immigration bill for GC applicants from India? If it is passed, what are advantages for us?

Thanks

Visa numbers unused...

Guys: An earlier visa bulletin (don't remember which one) mentioned that they are proceeding cautiously so that the visa numbers are not completely used well before the end of this fiscal year. I would think they won't waste the visa numbers. right?

As there are only 5 months left in this fiscal year, won't they move the dates many months forward - say to end of 2001. The logic being even if there are thousand's of 245(i)'s in the system it will take more than a year to approve their GC (I-140 approval, finger printing, name check etc) and there by use a visa number. Am I missing anything here.

Even if a legislation comes out of the senate we are not going to see the impact for atleast another 6-8 months (house conference, implementation issues etc). I personally feel it's a curse to be a EB3. Let's pray and stick together.

The only thing you missed is you think logically, they don't.

PHSESAaug,

You have just described how the process "should" work. In reality nothing in this immigration process works as it should. We will just have to wait and see what new blunders the DOS and USCIS have in store for us.

We are now waiting for two things.

The May Visa number.
The immigration reform bill to be passed.

Although everyone is eagerly waiting for the immigration reform bill to pass, in acticipatation that the bill will provide some relief.

But after going through the bill I am thinking of parying for it not to pass.
I dont know the exact details but this is what will happen if it does pass.
There will be another flood like the 245i application, this time 11 million and they will get the first shot at the priority numbers.
So even if they double the Visa numbers we dont stand a chance.
Infact even if the Visa numbers are increased to 1 million in a year, even then we will have to wait 10 years for the 11 million illigals to first get the GC.

So I am not really looking forward to see this bill passed.
