I checked my status online yesterday and it shows they have mailed me an RFE notice. This could be a good news or a bad news! They are either processing May 2002 RD files or ... god knows!

See rupnet.com for my file info. Username=persepolis

good for you

hope this is good indication of some progress, not just randomness... so it would be a good news for everyone :)

keep us posted about the rfe.

what country are you from if you don't mind

to tell us? That will help us. Other case details will greatly help.
Thanks,
-ghee

Hi EB3RIR_MO,

Can you please give us your Notice Date. I am unable to find it on Rupnet.

Thanks
Soji.

Ghee, you ask a very good question. I am from Iran and I suspect they are sending my file to Missouri Service Center. This by itself can be a good news for two reasons: 1) my file is not lost! 2) someone bothered to take a look. Anyways, I have learnt the less you pay attention to this greencard deal the more enjoyable your life is. You just gotta agree with me on this. Things that would help:

1) beer
2) cute ladies (or guys if you are a girl)
3) travelling

and finally

4) ignoring your boss

Cheers!!

My RD and ND is just a few days from yours and I am happy to see that someone at NSC looked at a May 02 file. That is progress. Keep us posted as to what your RFE is regarding and good luck.

:)

How do you know your case has been transferred to MO? I was informed my case was and so far I didn't see anything from Nebraska except the notice for second FP. I am not sure it's a good sign or bad.

My ND is June 04, 2002, close to yours.

EB3RIR_MO,

-gheeGhee, you ask a very good question. I am from Iran and I suspect they ........

Thanks for your remark. I try to avoid extra jargons and try to ask questions representing for most of our good friends on this net. I try to find the answer for questions that we are all looking for.
I think it is a good sign that nsc is generating rfe. please tell us what it is all about. did any of your iranian friends get faster than
other nationalities (from your experience)?
good luck,

I got the RFE in the mail. They requested a copy of my I94 for FIN # verification. My lawyer responded to the FRE and the online status says they have received the RFE response (which surprises me how fast it got updated).

Now here is the deal:
They either assigned my file to an officer
or
they are sorting out people from SR countries.

what do you think?

Cheers and have a good weekend

EB3RIR_MO,

Did you ever travel outside the country after applying for your 485? That is the only reason I could imagine why they'd ask for I94 as it would've changed if you've travelled out of the country.

But then again, it is NSC we're talking about!

I seriously don't think they're weeding out people from SR countries because my ND was late March and I received an RFE (birth cert) recently, and I'm not from SR country. My attorney thinks it could be a clerk doing some initial analysis of the file even before passing it on to an immigration officer.

So I guess we could only speculate....

like i said the RFE was about FIN #. This applies only to the individuals who had to comply with special registration (SR). i tend to agree with the previous comment. they might be doing some initial sorting out.

cheers

EB3RIR,

I am assuming your case was done by the book so this may be good news. At least your file is moving. Have you called and ask if your case has been assigned to an officer? If it has been and it is adjudicated positively within a few months, consider yourself truly blessed!

I'd like to gauge the opinion of other users. If you are from an SR impacted country and receive and RFE for the I485 application (sorry about the TLAs - three letter acronyms!) that's for employment or something else, should you also send proof of special registration? I would think yes since BCIS is likely to ask you at some point anyways. The only disadvantage I see is sending additional information may cause some delay.

rgds,
sadiq

sorry guys. i think i forgot to give you an update on my RFE when i received it. anyways, like i thought they were asking for the proof of special registration. as part of that i had to send a copy of my current i-94 which has my FIN on it.

again, i dont know if my case has been assigned to an officer or not and i am not gonna call BCIS to get an inquiry on that. we all know they wont tell you any more than you can find out yourself by online status checking.

i also went for my 2nd finger print appointment. they gave me a letter that indicates NSC has mistakenly been issueing these 2nd FP notice letter. The letter further says ignore the notice and come back in december if you havent received your approval by then.

cheers
