Maximum Duration, a H1B visa holder can remain outside of the US

Hi all,

I\'m having a valid H1b1 visa valid till the end of OCtober, 2002. But, the US based company that I work for, has sent me to India to work in their Indian firm, while I continue as an employee of the US company. Is there any Max. time before which I must return to the US, to maintain my H1b status? Some say a H1b1 visa holder must not be outside of the US for a max of 3 months. Any thoughts?

As long as you have valid visa and you are stillan employee you can come back after any time
