I have case number where(web site) can I check my status OF LC?

Either your employer or your attorney has to contact MD SESA to find out the status information. They don't discuss that with foreign workers.

When was your LC filed? What category?

Hi yours_sincerely,

Did you meet the lawyer and get the info?

Thanks

Hey guys,
My LC was filed on 03/29/02 and my lawyer called me up to ask for some previous work-ex certificates. It must be an NOF I guess but I just wanted to confirm for you guys that they have started processing atleast my date. I'll try to put up more info once I meet my lawyer on Monday.
Thanks for the tons of valuable info you guys put on the site.
Regards.

Rahul,

MD SESA sends a notification to lawyer when the case moves to Philly. Once it is received at Philly and is entered into their system, Philly sends a separate notice that includes something like a case number.

Once you have the case number, you can call up Philly DOL automated status line and get status info.

Hope this helps

Update on my case

I just came from my lawyer's office. Apparently, the state labor guys are sending back lots of cases on the basis of a salary revision. My case was filed as "Software Developer" and they say the prevailing wage is 82,650 something! So I've to get a salary revision acceptance from my employer and send it back to DOL. The lawyer says it might take 8-9 months for the case to go to Phily DOL after we send an acceptance of the new salary..phew

Hi Yours_Sincerely,

If it is just a salary revision, then it would not take 8-9 months. I know a friend of mine, who got a similar issue with MD SESA. He filed his case in RIR in April 2001 and got the same query. His employer accepted the revision and they send it back and it got approved in a month at MD SESA. Later he got his labor approved from Philly in 4 months and got his GC through Consular processing in May 2002.

Don't worry! Reply the query soon and yours will go to Philly in atmost 1 month after MD receives it.

Good Luck with your employer!

Thanx Mdgc, Its biggest disadvantage to work in big orgnization and dealing with corporate lawyers, they are bunch of sucker who charged tripple digit hourly rate and never do work worth of pennies.

Rahul,

Usually the corporate lawyers work for the employers. So in many cases these employers/company/corporation HR or Legal departments instruct the lawyers to not disclose most of the information directly to the employee without the company official consent. That is the reason they act hard-nosed with employees.

Well, there are some lawyers as you said probably do not do work worth the rate they charge.

Anyways when you did you file your LC in MD?

First week of April 2002 (thanx to corporate lawyers , I dont know exact date of filing). I'll keep you guyz posted if I hear anything from my lawyer (which I doubt), my only hope to find out abt my case from philly avm, unfortunately that too is not working.

Rahul,

Its going to take sometime for the AVM at philly to update case status. I think it takes 7 to 10 days on average for the AVM to update after the case is received at Philly.

Optionally an employer representative (your manager or somebody in HR) also can call MD SESA and check your case status.

any progress in MD SESA?

i called MD SESA recently and asked whether they are going to get more fundings for the next fiscal year (begins on Oct 1st). unfortunately, the answer is NO!!!!

and they told me that RIR is in low priority now.

does anybody know who is the person in charge of MD SESA? please let me know. i'm thinking to contact to convince him/her that RIR should receive more attentions...
