Marrying resident pending naturalization

I am getting married to my girlfriend. I currently hold an H1B visa. She is a US resident. She submitted her naturalization paperwork and already got her I-797 saying that she will be contacted and that the UCSIS got all the paperwork.

We still have not set a wedding date, but in order to help me get my green card/ work permit quicker, we dont know if its best to get married now or wait until she is a US citizen, which I believe will take 8-12 months from this time approximately. If we get married within the next 2 months, as we had planned initially, can I get a work permit quickly as well, since she is already pending naturalization? Any help or info would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your prompt reply.

Yes. she is a permanent resident.

Just one more thing.

If I marry her now, her status being a permanent resident (and NOT a citizen) , does that change my status immediately as a permanent resident also, and thus I can apply for employment authorization? Thats what Im not too clear on yet.

thanks

Got it! thanks.

Does anyone know how long its taking for the naturalization process nowadays. From the time they receive the application to the time once gets sworn in? I have heard as little as 4 months or as long as a year.
