Marrying a US citizen

Hi everyone, I could really use your help..
My story starts like this. I came to the US with my husband (at the time) and daughter in 2009. He asked for asylum at the airport and was detained but my daughter and myself were free to leave. Long story short my husband was granted asylum by an immigration judge and later petitioned for my daughter and myself and it was approved.

My husband and myself started having marriage problems and decided to go our own ways. We finally got divorced and I'm no longer a derivative asylee so cannot adjust my status.

I have someone and we are engaged now and planning to get married.

I had applied for asylum Nunc pro tunc and as suggested by a lawyer I just filled in my bio information and a cover letter stating my situation with all documents. my documents were returned and they asked for me to fill out all questions regarding asylum. I was not persecuted it was my husband so I don't understand what I should do. I need to apply for PR.

So now I'm thinking when I marry my fiancee can I adjust my status as marrying a US citizen or should I go ahead and apply for asylum nunc pro tunc? Please really need your help guys.

I would follow the marrying the U.S. Citizen route and then adjusting your status as married to a U.S. Citizen.

i would follow the asylum case and apply for green card , because , simply what if you broke up again with your new fiance ?

Thanks for replying guys. We got married on the 3rd of this month so yea that's done.. So I guess I should go ahead and adjust my status married to U.S citizen? and another question, I have to change my SS and DL to my now married name will I have any problems since I'm no longer a derivative asylee? and how long should I wait before filing my application to adjust status and what forms should I use?
