Marry to permanent resident

I own my green card 1 more year from last May(2004). My girlfriend who was currently not in the States and I plan to get married two years later (2007). The questions I have are:

1. After 4 more years (2009), I will be eligible to apply for naturalization. Is that the best and fastest way to make her permanent residentship?

2. If #1 is true, how long will she become eligible to apply for green card or naturalization? (She will stay with permanent resident for 2 years, 2007-2009)

3. Do you have better idea for this case?

Any suggestion is very much appreciated!

1. Yes. this is the only way to make her PR through you.
2. GC is for Permenent Resident. After you become a US. Citizen, you have to file for her GC. Staying with PR doesn't give her any credit here.

a legal permanent resident can apply for spouse's immigrant visa (GC). However, it takes 5-6 years to get the GC that way. It's a lot faster, if the person is a US citizen (under a year).

US citizen at birth?

From the "Guide to naturalization",

Answer to Question 25:

A child who is born in the United States, or born abroad to a U.S. citizen(s) who lived in (or came to) the United States for a period of time prior to the child’s birth, is generally considered a U.S. citizen at birth.

1. Does that mean if I am US citizen, my wife can bore our baby abroad?

2. After child was born, can I go abroad to live with my wife?

--> one disadvantage doing so is my wife will face the risk disrupting the continuous residence and physical presence requirement to naturalization application (3 years as a Permanent Resident without leaving the United States for trips of 6 months or longer and 18 months physical presence)
