Hi, I am Mexican, I just married in Mexico with an american. We got the Mexican Marriage Ceritificate but we don't know what paperwork I/we need to do when I move to the US (I have Turist Visa) and start living there, as well as the work permit/visa. I don't know what papers are required for me besides the marriage certificate so that I can be living legally permanent(Michigan State). I've heard I need to translate them, but also I've heard about to get apostilles. I don't know if I need them all with apostiles or just the translations. Can anyone help me? I would really appreciate it! Thank you

The forms you need are:

I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status
G-325A, Biographic Information
Either your original I-130, Petition for Alien Relative (if you are filing concurrently), or a copy of your I-797, Notice of Action (if the petition was already approved).
I-864, Affidavit of Support
I-693, Medical Examination of Aliens Seeking Adjustment of Status
All required supporting documentation as listed on the above forms.

You can also file for I-765 if you intend to work in the US.

I-864 needs to be notorized. All documents need to be translated if not in English

Good Luck

You will have to file a separate I-130 for family based AOS. I am not sure if you can go through DORA or not but you can check the infopass. When you put your zip code, the DORA option will show up if it falls in your district. I have a strong feeling that you can but please double check

If I am not mistaken, she does not have to leave the country. You can file for her right away and then she can legally stay here under "AOS pending" status.

Asylums are always tricky and hard to get approved. You should have filed her petition as soon as you guys were married.
