Marriage visa steps?

Can someone outline the steps involved, right from a fiance visa, to going to the US and get married (to a US citizen), to having permanent residency?

I believe it's along the following lines, but I'm not sure I have it right:
1. Apply for fiance visa - K1
2. Arrive in US, get married
3. Maybe stay in US? Not sure if it is possible to stay while applying for permanent residency. Does the K3 do this?
4. Apply for permanent residency, authorisation for employment, and right to travel
5. Attend interview
6. Receive 2 year conditional visa
7. After 18 months apply for condition to be removed
8. Permanent resident status

1. Apply for fiance visa - K1
1.1 Get K1 visa.
2. Arrive in US, get married within 90 days.
3. Stay in the States. Apply for permanent residency (adjustment of status = GC), authorisation for employment, and right to travel
4. Attend interview
5. Receive 2 year conditional GC if your marriage is less than two years old at the time of the interview. Receive an unconditional GC if your marriage is more than two years old.
7. If a conditional permanent resident, apply for removal of conditions 2 months prior to the expiration of the conditional status.
8. About 1.5-2 years later get an unconditional Permanent resident status

Thanks - one question

Thanks for the reply. Can someone confirm if I additionally need the K3 visa to stay in the US after getting married, or is that covered by the K1?

You don't need K3 visa. Just apply for employment authorization along with your 485 etc. You can legally stay and work on EAD.
