Marriage Visa - Immediate family member criminal record

If I am marrying an American Citizen and applying for marriage based visa/green card and an immediate family member (who I have no contact with) has a criminal conviction, does that in any way affect my application?

I have no criminal record.

If that person has no involvement with your immigration process (such as being a financial sponsor or providing an affidavit about your relationship), their criminal history will not affect your immigration process.
