Marriage to Green Card holder and AOS

Hi

I am contemplating marriage to a GC holder and I have a question regarding I130 and AOS.

I currently hold a valid visitors visa to USA. Is it possible to get married, enter USA on the existing visitors visa and then immediately apply for I130 and Adjustment of Status. I understand that it might take time for a decision to be made by USCIS.

What are my best options - please advise.

Spouse of permanent resident is in the F2A category which has a wait for visa numbers. So you will not be able to do Adjustment of Status at the time of filing the I-130 petition. In addition, you cannot enter on a visitor visa with pre-conceived intention to do Adjustment of Status during that trip.
