If she is not USC by the time your H1 expires, you can stay here as an illegal and wait till she become a USC and apply for your GC provided you will not leave the country during that time which can trigger 3-10 years of ban. Overstaying your visa is forgiven for spouse of USC.
Personally I would not prefer to be an illegal.
Sorry, being a spouse of a GC holder doesn't give you ant status.
