Hi

I am grated asylum and I apply for change of status 3 years ago, my question is:

I want to marry some one, she is here in the US on a F1 visa( Student), so if I marry here can I put her in my status ? and when I will get the green card is she going to get it to?

Thanks

Unfortunately you would have to wait to become permanent resident first and then apply for her which takes another 3-4 years and during that time she would need to maintain her status in the US.

The time estimate may be too optimistic. As of today they are giving out visas to applicants who filed in November 98, a 5+ year wait. The wait time is likely to increase in the future.

The only real option open to you is (if both of you are from the same country) for your wife to apply for asylum on her own and note that you are an asylee. There is no assurances of success, but experience shows that Asylum Officers are receptive to such applications.
