marriage on EAD

Hi Everyone,
My company notified me today that they would like to file EAD/AP instead of renewing my H1-B (2 more years after nov'03)

If they were to proceed, and I have a EAD/AP and decide to get married next year in India - how does the spouse join? (if at all?)

Any help much appreciated.

Bringing your spouse here is going to be tough if you loose ur H1. But other than that, you can do follow to join.

So to be clear, if I lose H1B in Nov2003, get married in Dec2003, get GC in Dec2005, my wife will sit in India from Dec2003-2005.

Correct?

I am not sure if you can file 485 for your wife while she is not in US. Therefore, you will have to file the petition after you get your GC. Then, it will take a while to get interview date at US consulate.... could be months/years before she will be able to come here. (check this with the lawyer).

It will be better if you can keep extending H1 until you get married and your wife is here on H4. Explain this to the lawyer/company.

NO !!!

Give preference to bringing your wife here, on this soil. Ur prolly thinking of doing follow to join in CP, but a) I am not sure if thats possible, and b) CP isn't as good as it sounds.

Try and keep ur H1, and bring ur wife here on H4, file for follow to join.
