Hello to everyone, I hope I'm writing in the right place since this is my first time on this forum.
About 10 months ago I and my wife, who is a U.S. citizen, attended the changing of status interview based on marriage(I-485 & I-130). At the end of the interview, the officer who interviewed us told me that she couldn't take a decision at that time because my name check wasn't cleared yet and they will inform me by mail about the decision. Since then I didn't receive anything from them, I sent an inquiry form myself and also through the local congressman's office and both letters said that the case is still pending.
As we all know the name checks might take a lot of time for some of us. But is this the true reason why the case is still pending or there could be other reasons like not providing enough proof of marriage? Would the officer inform us at that time if something else is needed?
