Marriage before I 485 approval, Spouse in back home!

Hello Guys,

I have I485 pending right now. My receipt date December 08 2006. I am planning to go back in my AP and get married before my I 485 gets approved.

My questions would be:

1. Does my wife has to be in US for me to add her in my exisitng I 485?

2. If yes, any alternate route? time it takes?

If you are on H-1B better you get your passport stamped so that you can bring your wife (would be) bring along to US on H-4 (provided you have all the papers ready for the interview after your marriage).

Once you use AP to enter US then you will be on parolee status but still you can work with the same employer and you can go back to nonimmigrant status (H-1B) once you apply for extension with the same employer (see USCIS cronin memo)

You have to file 485 for her and for that her physical presence is required
