I will be getting IL soon for my naturalization. My question is do we need wife to accompany us for interview or I can go by myself.

Thanks

You will go by yourself since the interview will be conducted only with you. No need for your wife to come with you.

If she has no other obligation at that time, she can always come along for moral support. It looks good and if there is any question about the validity of the marriage, it could help speed up the process.

I had a case as an adjudicator once where, the LPR wife had entered as a student and after a year had married, dropped out of school, and adjusted status based on that marriage. She was a 20 something Asian married to a retired African-American over age 65.

He was in the waiting room with their toddler in his lap and that helped avoid a delay for evidence of the bona fides of the marriage. It's just one example.

There was also the 50+ year old Chinese businesswoman married to the (probably gay) 20 year old waiter who didn't even live in the same city with her so that he could "pursue his career" as a part-time food server. Can you guess how that worked out?

Common sense is not always commonly found in immigration matters and cases.

Thanks

Thanks Bigjoe and nwctzn. If she is not required then I wouldn't ask her to take a leave from work and go with me.

Bigjoe your examples are hilarious.
