Marriage and Birth Certificate

Hi There

Would someone kindly share their experience on obtaining a Marriage or Birth Certificate in absense of not having one from India. We are being asked for the certificates to be from the municipality (or the non existence of one) and it is unclear how one can get these from India when you are here physically? Are there specific offices in Delhi or Bombay or workarounds that exist to get these?

*** where you were born in India? City or village and State......

* Where you got married? In Village or City? If you got married in City then the registrar of marriage office can issue you marriage certificate. Get in touch with Local lawyer of that city and he will send you form Memorandum of marriage and you and your wife both need to sign that and lawyer will submit that to registrar office and can get in 4-6 days(if lawyer gives Chai Pani to Clerk)
