Marital Status_Advice Needed

I have received the notification that I am one of the selectees for DV-2010 and I have duly returned the necessary forms to KCC. My husband and I are from two different countries and we currently live in another country, where we've been residing since 2002. We got married in 2007 at the local embassy of my husband's country and therefore his status has changed to married. I have not changed my status in mine, so officially I am still single there. We have the marriage certificate and will change my status these days.

Can this be a possible reason for not receiving the second notification letter and not being scheduled for an interview?

That cannot be the reason of not receiving the second notification letter. Your second letter of notification would only come when your number becomes current. All the other factors would arise during the interview
 
That sounds comforting! Thanks for the answer! I thought that a background search is done for each of the individuals that receive a second letter from the KCC based on the information submitted in the forms.

You can call KCC to find out info about the 2nd letter or the interview date.
