Details around do's and don'ts before, at the time of and after the CP interview and with specific details around Mumbai are listed under this thread if anyone is interested:
Just called (11:50pm EST) Mumbai consulate and the operator gave me the interview date 03/16/2004.
ACI-140 Received by consulate (as per FedEX tracking): 01/05/04
Case created on (assumption): 01/08/2004
Interview Date: 03/16/2004
Medicals at Breach Candy: 03/11/2004
I called up the embassy (Mumbai) last night and after 30 minutes or so was able to get the line .
My interview has been scheduled for 03/24/2004 . and the attendent told me that the appointment letter has been emailed. but looking at the history on this board I am not sure if I will receive that , but I will still like to wait another 2 weeks or so before sending someone to pick up the appt letter from embassy.
I am in the process of collecting all the relevant documents required for Interview. and want to know how to collect vaccination history. Me and My wife do not have any vaccination records . How the doctor in India will know which vaccinations we have taken and which are required.
I will appreciate if someone can help me with this.
In absence of vaccination records, the doctor will give you all the required vaccines. Many of the folks fall in the same category where they may have taken vaccines in the past but do not maintain records.
Expect your P4 / appointment letter envelope between 26th Feb and 3rd of March!
HI kd1403.
Thanks for the reply. I have two questions if you or someone on this board who is aware of it can reply.
a) Is there any way to get vaccination records now. like do they do any blood test and let us know what vaccination I have received ? I am basically trying to avoid any vaccinations which are not necessary.
b) If I try to get vaccination records from some other place will they be valid or they look at the date of those records ?
Normally the vaccines viz TEtanus, MMR and Chicken Pox (if you have not had chicken pox before) if you haev taken before and have rcords then you can provide those records to the doctor ad then it is the doctor's discretion to accept or reject. Normally they accept.
Not really sure why you would want to avoid the vaccines if you have not taken them before or if you have taken and do not have records.
Just a word of advice if you do not have the records do not request a doctor to create one as it is not worth it.
Does anyone know if any of these hospitals Lilavati, Breach Candy or Hinduja do medical on Saturdays ?
If not is it a good idea to go for medical two days before interview or should I plan earlier ? My interview is on Wednesday and I am planning to go for medical on Monday.
None of the three hospitals in mumbai do immigrant medical check up on weekends. At least they did not do 4 months back!
Yes if you do medicals on Monday you should get the reports same evening prior to 5pm ASSUMING you or any of your dependents do not have a complicated past medical history or are not on medication currently. If they are on prescribed medication carry appropriate papers.
Got today three demand drafts (for me, wife and daughter) for IV fee of $335.00 each (AC-I140 case; no NVC). The drafts are in Indian Rupees (Rs. 15410.00 each) favoring "American Consulate General, Mumbai" drawn on State Bank of India, Mumbai (Main) branch.
Got these drafts from SBI, NYC branch.. Hope the consulate accepts them.
I understand one can do DDs in India as well, just wanted to save some time in Mumbai...
Hope you know what that (receiving appt letter) means...it means that you are on your last lap of the marathon. all the best with your interview just in case we do not see on online before then!
Thanks a lot, Divekar for your best wishes..Hectic travel plans in India may hamper daily access to this forum but I'll keep detailed notes for future updates on this forum to provide as much info to others as I can.
I am still here in the US till next Saturday (03/07) so will keep on peeping in...
