I had my lawyer contact my Senator's office on 11/1/2004. I got a reply from the Senator's office yesterday 11/9/2004. It says that I would get a decision on my case withing the next 60 days. I am not sure if this is a standard reply but it sounds reassuring.

Not bad. Atleast your senator office works. Which state is the senator from?

Can I talk to any senator in US
or only to senator in my state?

Thanks

This is a standard reply, but if the inquiry goes through representatives, generally the cases are given little more attention. Good Luck to you!

You are the next see my FP2.. I think CIS started approving Sept. Fp2 cases...

I doubt it seriously

I have been told the same by my Local Congressman. And I have serious
doubts about how much worth we can give to it.

If you are looking for consolation and solace, this may serve the purpose.

Else, I look at it as lip service moving from USCIS to Congressman's
and Senator's offices.

I mean pretty soon, the offices of Senators and Congressmen will be so
flooded with these, I can bet that you will find USCIS kinda service
and functionality at their offices too.

May sound funny, soon each of them may also have a 1-800 # for all
such I-485 cases where you will be asked your dad's first cousin's mom's
maiden name and be told that you need to contact back after 30 days
only :)

What we are seeing is the gradual moving of the problem from USCIS
to the offices of Senator's and Congressmen, that's all; there's simply
no solution.

It was Senator Levine's office in Michigan. I beleive you would have to contact the senator from your state.
