On November 25, President Bush signed the Homeland Security Act of 2002, Pub. L. No. 107-296, 116 Stat. 2135. The new law abolishes the INS as of March 1, 2003.

It means we should forget about adjustments of I-485 till March 1, 2003.

What we can do is acclerate our efforts. Send emails to all possible sources. Just bombard. Silli man's ardor should help us!!

Tasse, Where did you read March 1, 2003? The plans for abolishment of INS donot begin until 1 year after DHS is setup (which in my eyes is gonna be another mess).

What exactly is a sign of trouble? That's a huge document.

Anyway, under the new law, the abolishment of INS doesn't even begin until one year after DHS is up and running, which who knows when that will be.

Yea the reorganization tsunami has hit us, we're in for a long haul.

This reminds me of a Bush joke:

Three guys are talking in a bar, the first a Britisher boasts about his country and says, "In my country the medical system is so advanced, we can take a liver out of one man and put it into another and have him looking for work within six month.

The second a Frenchman tries to top it and says, "In my country the medical system is so advanced we take half a heart out of one man and put it into another and have both looking for work inside of 2 months.

The American not to be outdone says, "In my country we take a brainless man out of Texas and put him in the White house and have a million people looking for work in a month.

This brainless man has definitely shat on our parade! :( This green card has begun to seem like a bloody dream now.

I think NBC / ABC / MTV should start a new reality show called "Green Card Survivor". INS will elimiate people by giving RFE's. The candidates can be also eliminated by frustrating them by giving BSs.
