Because of delays in regular labor, lawyer selected CP option. I called NVC and they said my I140 has been sent to Chennai on Dec. 18, 2000 (one year back).
Hoping for the best.
 
Have you tried calling IIO and asking about

Have you ever called IIO and ask about how long it might take to get the I-140 back from the consulate? Do they always require the file?

She will let me know. As soon as I find out something I\'ll keep you guys posted.
 
Another I140 for CP Spoke with NVC VSC today

Spoke to NVC, rep said that file was sent to Chennai and VSC has to request Chennai Consulate to send it back to VSC.Looks like NVC has no role in this.
Later spoke to VSC IIO said that my case is not yet taken for adjudication and it maybe taken for adjudication in next week.Only then they will send a request to consulate for 140 file.

Called NVC, told my file was sent to VSC on 6\'01
Had FP notice on 7\'01
AVM changed from \'case not found\' to \'case received\' 12-6
Waiting..waiting......
 
Case approved. I-140 was in CP

For your info, AVM says, my I-485 got approved. I am also a Mar01 filer but I140 was approved for CP.

Because the lawyers have nothing to lose.

We are in tense they are not. They didn\'t care to send a letter to NVC to hold the file.

What is the means of VSC\'s sending request for the file ? Electronic or some other way ? Usually how long it takes to get the file from India ?
