the above cases number processing in Mumbai consulate and this only one consulate ... please imagine that how many consulates or embassies in the world ???!!! without comment !!!!

Sorry - I don't understand the point you are trying to make. I have never heard anyone say that AP was the biggest reason that cases don't go through. Many cases don't progress for lots of reasons (some even as simple as the selectee changes their mind). So - the fact that cases remain unprocessed is no surprise - otherwise they wouldn't need to select 100k plus selectees to award 50k visas...

I don't understand either, the red writing doesn't make it any clearer by the way. I think everyone understands that many visas do not get processed in time and unfortunately people do miss out.

I am not sure what the point here but i have checked and the first two numbers have had their status updated to ISUED today the 1st of october 2013.

I am finding this whole post getting very confusing now. What is this all about? o_O

Q

I think what he means is that not all people who are put on AP get a visa. That's right of course since in the tens of thousands of people who get selected many will have problems with their applications; fake documents submitted, sham marriages after winning, applicant fails to submit documents requested at the interview, medical tests expired and the applicant didn't renew them when asked, someone lost interest, etc. Good luck to everyone :)

I will hazard a guess that you think there's a myth that says every DV selectee will get a visa. Well, there is no such myth. We all here know that until you have that visa sticker or green card, you're not a winner. People who join the forum are typically more successful in getting visas because they're more informed, they can avoid the common pitfalls, thus presenting the best case forward in the fastest way. There are many uninformed people out there who make common and stupid mistakes that cost them their visas.

On some threads here people often try to make each other feel better by saying "you will get it" and similar things. These are not statements of fact, these are encouragements, a way to ease the anxiety and fear of an uncertain and long drawn-out process. Any adult would understand that these nice words aren't a guarantee, they are just people being human and acting compassionately toward one another.

One should also realize that "security clearance" is not the only reason one may be put on AP. That of course is the most frustrating one. I think all those people in the AP thread were on "security clearance" AP, possibly because of their country of origin.

The claim is that they will do what they can to have the "security clearance" APs finished before the end of the FY.

However, AP can mean many things, such as a case missing a document and the applicant abandoning the case. We can't read too much out of this.

That being said, of course people lose the chance to get the visa. Who claimed otherwise?
