Management Consutant TN letter wording

Hi,

I have an offer of employment from a US company for a 1-yr contract to do recruiting. What's the best TN category for this? I think it's Management Consulting, but - I've read everywhere that it's very hard to get through in this category due to its wide misuse. What helps me is that the offer letter would actually state it's a 1-yr contract, but what else need it say for me to be able to get a TN in this category without hassle? Also, my previous employment (in Canada) was also a 2-yr contract, though it doesn't say so on my resume. Does it make sense to modify my resume to reflect that?

Finally, can I go ahead of time to a land POE to apply for the TN visa there? I want to make sure I can get one, before I formally accept the offer.

Any info helps. Thanks.

The position will be analyzed in accordance with the Department of Labor's Occupational Outlook Handbook decsription found at http://www.bls.gov/oco/ocos019.htm

Start with that.

Even if applying at POE or a pre-inspection station with CBP (for a Canadian) or with DOS at a Consulate (for a Mexican) the best source of information is found on the TN Nafta page on www.uscis.gov
