Today (4/26), we have collected $1000. It is one of best days. One person has donated $300 and another has donated $500. It was unbelievable and a kind of shocking to me. They are from the 'Complaint Forum' . It tells me that some people have great expectations from this organization and we, the volunteers of the organization (core team + all those who have donated) are going to make every effort to reach our target as soon as possible and start hiring a person to represent us and work for our organization, to meet all the congress men, on behalf of us.

This is an appeal to everyone who silently checks this forum, obtains useful information and are relieved that they are not alone in this endless wait for I485 approval. I was one of the silent forum users for almost a year after I discovered it. But lately I have come to realize that being silent and reaping it's benefits is not only a disservice to Rajive, Kashmir and all the people who work so hard to bring this forum to us, it is a disservice to ourselves.
We are all passively waiting till the INS ruins our lives by delaying our I485 till our jobs are outsourced or we just get sick of our current jobs till we quit out of frustration to return to our home countries. Of course for some lucky people there is a chance of a quick approval or for those patient people who have been waiting like 2.5 years silently using this forum, their approvals are hopefully right around the corner. But think of reality for most of us - chances are most of us fall into the category of the majority who will suffer a long and painful wait with no predictable end in sight.
Just look the hopelessness number of cases given by the thread "pending cases" by longwait_2001

Most of us are in for a very very long wait.
So the question is are we going to do this silently or are doing the best we can in terms of joining hands with those who are working to make the wait shorter?
I'm not advocating drastic measures, but at least make a monetary contribution and send a few emails and faxes. It's the least you can do.
And please think of the thousands of people like us who will continue to suffer - do we wish this nightmare for anyone else? I don't think so. If you're worried about email/fax campaigns - then please make a contribution at least.
I want to add some personal information, I've been with my present job for over 4 years at a relatively large high tech company and have no worries for at least a couple of years as far as outsourcing goes. But I am pretty sick of the workload and the management and desperately want to go to college and start a brand new career. I've got so frustrated I've started a part-time graduate program in spite of all my work. Those classes keep me going and give some purpose to my life. I think every day about giving up the idea of living in the US and returning to my home country. And I have spent like 9 years in the US counting time spent going to college and grad school and I am scared about not fitting in back home. But a lot of days I think that anything has to be better than the crap I have to deal with at work. I am just waiting for this nightmare to end WAC-02-155-XXXXX.
So I have decided not to be passive when email/fax campaigns are started or contributions are requested. I've written this detailed venting and a personal appeal in case it does some good in terms of fund raising.
