maintaining f1 status: Please help me if you can

I am an international student currently enrolled as a part-time student since February 12, 2007 at a university in the United States. I have always enrolled as a full-time student before this semester.
I recently got accepted for an exchange student program at a university in Finland. The next semester at the university in Finland begins on August 30, 2007. However, the next semester at my current university begins on June 11, 2007.
Because of this situation I will not be able to attend the next semester entirely here in the United States in order to attend the exchange student program. Therefore, will I be maintaining my F1 status if I do not enroll for classes between June 11, 2007 and August 30, 2007? ( My "out of status" exceeds 5 months if I do not study during this gap).
I would be highly obliged if you anybody could provide me with some information regarding my problem. I look forward to your reply.

do you have a permission to take a part time load right now? Do you plan to apply for reinstatement of status before the summer semester?

First of all, thanks for the reply.....Well the university allows me to take a semester off after every two consecutive semesters.I am a part time student rite now but its like taking a semester off. I am willing to be a full time student next semester but the only problem is the beginning dates. The semester at the university in Finland starts like 2 and a half months later.
Therefore, will I be considered a full time student for this 2 and a half months provided i've registered for the courses in advance. And i haven't planned to apply for reinstatement of my status in future.
