Hello Friends,

I am about to apply for citizenship for me and my wife.

I understand that we need to include two complete sets of application with two different application fee checks.

Can it be mailed in a single package or should I separate them out?

Please share your experience. (I searched on this forum, but could not find an answer)

Thanks,
Sayam

I amiled mine and my wife's in different packages. Why risk the furture confusion? Just several bucks more of mailing fee.

I would use two different envelopes with 2 seperate checks ofcourse. One envelope will have your application and the other will carry your wife's application. Now I would throw those 2 envelopes into one single envelope & mail it in. This way both applications make it together and on the other hand it will be pretty organized in seperate envelopes.

Last but not least, make sure to use certified mail or atleast use "delivery confirmation" option. This way you will be able to track your envelope online and will know when it was actually delivered instead of making guesses. Spending few extra bucks will definitely be worth it. Good luck to u guys.:)

I concur with Atlanta_Brother in the two separate envelopes inside a third one. This is the way I tend to recommend. However, this is not the way I did it. I just sent two separate envelopes. My logic was slightly different. I valued my kid obtaining citizenship through any of us above getting processed together. Sending two separate envelopes I minimized the risk that both would get lost. On the other hand I was cheap and trusted USPS and sent the application through regular mail, no delivery confirmation. My delivery confirmation was the canceled check from the bank. I personally didn't have any issues and both applications were processed concurrently (same day fingerprint, same day interview, and same day oath) despite sending them in separate envelopes. I hope this information is useful.

If you are going to go the extra expense of paying for extra tracking services, then it makes sense to send the two applications in separate envelopes inside a third one as Atlanta_Brother has described.

Good luck.

2 separate apps, 2 seperate envelopes. From my experience, this is what I preferred.
No merging into ONE BIG envelope etc. I sent in seperate envelopes.

;) No 'One' answer to your question Sayam. The objective is that package(s) (one or two) should reach USCIS safely. Both cases are considered separate and evaluated on their own merit. Make your best judgement..... and good luck.

Merge it and mix them too .... make it real confusing .... once you get it back, send them in two differnt envelopes.
