Mailing N-400 while out of country

I will be out of country for two months(8 weeks). I have completed N-400 application and it is ready to be mailed. Is it ok if someone mails the completed application to USCIS on my behalf, 3 weeks before I come back to US. Or, is it necessary I be physically present in US when the application is mailed.

Another question, my concern is if I mail the application before I leave, a finger print request might arrive in my absence. Is there a way to reschedule finger print appointments, or is it a fixed day and not re-schedulable.

Thank you.

The speed at which your application is processed depends on your DO - you should probably share that with the forum. In general it seems the FP date is roughly 1 month after the N400 is mailed. What you are describing seems to be fine, but will you include this trip in the application prior to filing? Why not wait until you return?

I think to apply for USC, you need to be in country. I would think you rather come to USA and apply it. This is because on N400 your most recent arrival date needs to be mentioned which can happen on when you are back to USA.

There's no requirement to be physically present in the US when you send in your application. If you receive your FP while you are outside the US, you can request to reschedule it.

The return date of the trip can be provided at the interview.

True, but that may result in a longer delay than simply waiting for the return date to be 2 weeks away so that the FP appointment will happen after one has returned to the US.
