Machine Readable Passport.

I recently got my I551 stamped and will be travelling to India for holidays.
In other forums, I have read that its required to have atleast one machine readable document (Passport or visa), but in my case as Indian passports are hand written and now just have the stamp, are there any concerns while retuning to US?

Anyone who travelled recently, can you please share your experiences? Thanks in advance.

You are just fine with the I-551 stamp. The requirement you mentioned is only for visa waiver countries (as of now).

As the previous post says, you do not need an MRP. However, even visitors from VWP countries look like they will be allowed ONE entry with a non-MRP (this will be noted on the I-94 that they have used their one time exemption) during the transition period. (This was recent guidance issued to the POE officers).
