I just wanted to know if someone has any idea on the process of filling I-130, when the child was adopted. I legally adopted my little brother almost 2 years ago and I'm getting ready to file I-130 and I-485 for him. What documents would I need to submit with I-130 and I-485. I don't have adoption decree (I didn't even make a copy of it) since I turned it in, in order to get his new birth certificate, where I am listed as his father. Do I need to have my county (here in the US) recognize this adoption or do I just send the translated paperwork from my home country? Any help would be appreciated!
